Mānuka is a quintessentially New Zealand flavour that is helping to raise the profile of NZ whisky globally. Drawing on the age old tradition of using mānuka wood smoke to preserve and cook food (comparable to the use of peat in Scotland), Thomson have applied this technique to their single malt whisky production practices.
This whisky is also now used by a well-known Scottish based blender, further taking the NZ story to global whisky lovers. It exemplifies the spirit of innovation, experimentation, and self-made ‘can do’ attitude which New Zealander’s are well known for.

Tasting Notes
Salted taffy, lifted clove with natural smoke on the nose, distinctively mānuka wood smoke with a light perceptive sweetness on the palate, cloves notes continue into a long and distinctive finish.
A great example of a whisky made in NZ not
trying to be a scotch.
