First established in 1782, operating for just over a century before being sold and closing shortly after, Teeling was re-founded in 2012 by the same family. The new distillery opened in 2015 in Dublin’s Liberties neighbourhood, near the original location, and was city’s first new distillery in 125 years. This rebirth of the distillery and local whiskey industry is represented by the phoenix on every bottle.

Focusing on small batch production (10,000 bottles) to achieve quality and flavour, Teeling is dedicated innovation, sustainability, and unconventionality. This is done with atypical mash bills, unique yeast strains, and water treated through reverse osmosis, as well as forward-thinking distillation methods and innovative maturation techniques.

Teeling’s varied core range is triple distilled, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 46% ABV. Mashing, fermenting, and distilling are all done onsite, with four open top washbacks, two stainless steel fed with yeast and two Douglas Fir with no added yeast, and three custom copper pot stills (15,000L, 10,000L, and 9,000L). Warehousing of their casks, which are filled through a bung in the head, is done an hour north of Dublin on the Cooley Peninsula.
